The compostable materials will continue to work hard for the planet.
Difference between Biodegradable and Compostable
Biodegradation is the breakdown of materials by microorganisms like bacteria and fungi. Composting occurs when humans create a specific environment for biodegradation to take place in specific facilities.
How to dispose the pods/capsules?
The pods can be disposed of in the green bin, where municipalities accept biodegradable packaging. The entire capsule is biodegradable – no need to separate the lid from the cup or coffee.
Difference between industrial/Commercial Compost and Backyard Compost
Composting facilities use higher temperatures to ensure that organic waste breaks down more quickly and completely than a backyard composting pile. In some facilities, the compost can even be used to generate renewable natural gas.
Evergreen is the compostable solution for single-serve
With upwards of 25 million single-serve brewers in North America, the amount of plastic resulting from single-serve coffees is growing exponentially
Consumers love the convenience of single-serve coffee pods but are becoming increasingly concerned about waste – which is why we developed our own certified 100% compostable K-Cup Keurig-compatible vessel
Top Lid: a mix of paper and other compostable and biodegradable materials with compostable inks
Paper Filter: a combination of cellulose and heat-sealed compostable fibres
Capsule/Vessel: a self-protected PLA based oxygen barrier (G Polymer) allowing for a 6 month shelf life
Retail Packaging: produced with 100% compostable materials
